As an avid bird hunter who's ended far too many days afield with cuts and scratches on my legs due to low quality brush pants. I wanted to create the best on the market. Our original field pant features our 12.29oz military duck canvas combined with reinforced waxed cotton panels in the most exposed sections of the pant. After having the opportunity to join some friends on Quail hunts in Arizona and Texas it became clear that in hotter climates, or on hunts where many miles were covered on foot, it was worth trading some of the ballistic strength for flexibility and breathability. That's where the idea for the Active+ Field Pants came from - the perfect blend of comfort and performance while still retaining best-in-class abrasion and puncture resistance in key areas. These pants have been field tested in the cactus and thorn rich environments of southern Arizona and have proven their ability to protect from cuts and scrapes while still being flexible and breathable. The reinforced areas of the pants use the same 12.29oz military duck canvas which is incredibly strong and the base of the pants is a stretch/breathable fabric.

The Fit
Featuring our 8-Point fit, this pant has a straight leg cut with no taper from knee to cuff. This creates a comfortable over-the-boot look that works well on most body types and is designed to be worn outside boots.

Classic Style Details
Welt rear pockets, a double reinforced seat and a two-piece waistband that allows for waistband tailoring to loosen or tighten by 1in are all built into the design of our field pants.
Ball and Buck Signature Canvas Reinforcements
When we set out to create the perfect canvas, we didn't start with a design board—we started with history. Deep in U.S. government archives, we discovered the military specifications for WWII field tents and made that our blueprint.
Our 12.29oz Signature Canvas packs 190 yarns per square inch compared to most fabrics' 120-140, creating a dense weave that naturally repels water and resists mildew. The result is extreme abrasion resistance that feels substantial in your hands but won't weigh you down in the field.
This isn't theoretical durability—our canvas has been tested in Arizona's cactus covered terrain, Montana timber, and flooded duck swamps, emerging more beautiful with each adventure.

Active+ 4-Way Stretch Fabric

Our 3.4oz four-way stretch twill delivers extreme mobility without sacrificing the rugged construction you need in the field.
