A gun case is the one piece of gear you judge before anything goes in it. Jack Carr wanted a case he could hand a shotgun to without thinking about it — padded enough to trust, plain enough not to advertise, and built to ride in the back of a truck for a decade.

Shell of 12.29oz Signature Waxed Canvas with full-grain leather at the stress points and solid brass hardware throughout. Fully lined in quilted, padded 100% cotton twill so the barrel and receiver ride on something soft. Accommodates up to 50" of total length, which covers most shotguns and rifles with the scope on. Carry it by the handle or drop the removable shoulder strap with its leather pad over your shoulder and walk. Finished with Ball and Buck Original Camo.

Ball and Buck Signature Canvas

When we set out to create the perfect canvas, we didn't start with a design board—we started with history. Deep in U.S. government archives, we discovered the military specifications for WWII field tents and made that our blueprint.

Our 12.29oz Signature Canvas packs 190 yarns per square inch compared to most fabrics' 120-140, creating a dense weave that naturally repels water and resists mildew. The result is extreme abrasion resistance that feels substantial in your hands but won't weigh you down in the field.

This isn't theoretical durability—our canvas has been tested in Arizona's cactus covered terrain, Montana timber, and flooded duck swamps, emerging more beautiful with each adventure.

Every product made with our Signature Canvas carries forward manufacturing excellence and represents everything we stand for: uncompromising quality, heritage, and gear that gets better with age.

Waxed Cotton: Heritage Protection

Waxed cotton emerged from 15th-century maritime traditions when sailors waterproofed canvas sails with oil and wax. This time-tested process impregnates tightly woven cotton with specialized wax, creating breathable yet water-resistant protection.

Unlike synthetics, waxed cotton improves with age, developing rich patina and enhanced weather resistance. Originally used by fishermen and adopted by British motorcycle culture, it offers natural breathability without synthetic discomfort.

The fabric's self-healing properties allow minor scratches to disappear with heat and friction. When protection wanes, simple reproofing restores full performance—making it truly sustainable.

Waxed cotton represents timeless functionality: a fabric that protects, ages gracefully, and tells your story.

a living chronicle of a life well-lived
